Southern Charm star Craig Conover current behavior on the show makes it clear that he isn’t over his ex yet. In real-time, things are still a bit awkward between the two.
Craig spoke to Page Six about him ‘swallowing his ego’ to co-exist both on the show and off.
‘I mean we’ve been friends for a while, so I think … I hope for the best, but I don’t really see her. I’d say [I’m] just keeping my feelings in check … honestly, it’s gonna be like swallowing my ego out of respect for Naomie’s new life because I’m a big point-prover and it’s gonna be like — and I don’t like not being right but it’s gonna be more of just sitting back and being like, ‘It doesn’t matter if you’re right or wrong’ even though I’m gonna wanna say stuff. It would do more damage than not.’
He revealed that he recently saw Naomie and her new boyfriend and how it went.
‘Charleston’s a small town but — I ran into Naomi with her boyfriend at her birthday party the other week, and you know, stuff happens on the show so it’s fine, we can still say hi and be cordial. But if I was on Instagram after the episode trying to prove a point, then I don’t think we would be cordial.’
If you tune in to the Bravo show, you know that the exes can barely stand to be in the same room with one another. The latest obstacle is that Olindo refused to come on a cast trip because of the tension between them.
Although Conover insists that he barely even thinks of her, his friend Austen Kroll knows that they can never truly be friends again.
Kroll added: ‘There’s always gonna be an unresolved something between Craig and Naomie, but for the sake of our friend group and such, they always keep it cordial to each other’s face.’
